SIVASAGAR: In view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration, a meeting was held with the eminent personalities of the district, heads of various departments and administrative officers at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sivasagar District Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav.
The objective was to review and finalize arrangements to ensure a smooth and grand celebration of Independence Day. As in the previous years, this year too, Independence Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and elaborate programmes, informed the District Commissioner. Various aspects related to security measures, traffic management, medical facilities and cultural programs were also discussed at length. He sought cooperation of all departments and people of the district in celebrating Independence Day successfully.
District Development Commissioner Bitupan Neog, Superintendent of Police Subhrajyoti Bora, Zila Parishad CEO Aswini Doley, Additional District Commissioners Javed Arman and Partha Pratim Khanikar, Election Officer Sugata Siddhartha Goswami, other officials of the district administration, heads of various departments of the district, senior citizens, journalists, freedom fighters and representatives of several non-governmental organizations were also present in the meeting.
