Sivasagar DC Megha Nidhi Dahal reviews progress of COVID vaccination in the district

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal convened a meeting with the officers of the health department to review the COVID-19 vaccine distribution process in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the current COVID-19 vaccine distribution process in the district, directed the officers to increase the number of possible COVID vaccine centres in the district. He urged to keep 100 vaccination centres active from 90 to 100 daily from September 4. He also asked to increase the target of daily vaccines to 20,000. The Deputy Commissioner focused on setting up more vaccination centres in rural areas, interior areas, border areas. He also asked to vaccinate those who were stalled at tea gardens. He asked centres to pay special attention to vaccine wastage.

The Deputy Commissioner suggested to establish vaccination centres in the sub-health centres of the district. He also asked local teachers to be appointed as necessary verifiers at the vaccination centres. In the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioners Bitupan Neog and Chandana Baruah, Assistant Commissioner Deepawoli Kurmi, Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Syamanta Madhab Sharma, and other dignitaries were present.
