DEMOW: Bishnu Kamal Borah, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district, visited voting centres of 107 No. Thowra Constituency on Sunday along with Indica Gogoi, Demow Circle Officer, other officials and gaon burahs to observe the condition of the voting centres.
There are 157 voting centres in Thowra constituency and around 20 per cent voting centres needed water supply, electricity supply and sanitation facility. The Deputy Commissioner made an observation about this. He also said that for 80 plus and physically challenged voters, the Election Commission of India had allowed them to cast their votes through postal ballot.
