Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner inaugurates Sali Paddy Harvest Festival

SIVASAGAR: Under the 'Assam Agricultural Trade and Transformation Project (APART)' scheme of Sivasagar District Agriculture Department, in collaboration with Dihingpariya Mustard Grower Company under Demow Development Block, Sali Paddy Harvest Festival and the paddy harvesting machine attached under the Chief Minister's Samagra Gram Unnayan Yojna (CMSGUY) was inaugurated recently.

In order to make the farmers of the district more interested in the field of agricultural mechanization, the programme was attended by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav, Sivasagar District Agriculture Officer Balindra Nath Chetia, Agriculture Information Officer Asif Bora, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer of Horticulture and District Nodal Officer of APART Amrit Saikia, Saurav Jyoti of the Inter-National Rice Research Centre, Dr Shobhashree Dihingia, an expert from the Sivasagar Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the farmers present on the occasion by inaugurating the combined paddy harvesting machine. The event anchored by media expert Debasree Diksha Shandilya, was also attended by the agriculture development officers of Nitaipukhuri, Demow, Khelua, Konwerpur, Barpatra, Gaurisagar and employees of the APART and ATMA.
