Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Lakhinandan Gogoi visits flood-affected areas

DEMOW: Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar District Lakhinandan Gogoi on Sunday along with Demow Circle Officer Indica Gogoi and BDO of Demow Development Block Benudhar Tahu visited the flood-affected Milankur area near Demow and took stock of the flood-affected people. They distributed rice, pulses, potatoes and candles among the people staying in the relief camps.

The Sivasagar District has been heavily affected in the flood due to the incessant rains from the last few days. Under Demow Revenue Circle the Panidehing mouza has been highly affected in the flood. The water level of the Brahmaputra is increasing and in the night of July 10 three places of PWD road broke in Milankur area near Demow due to which the flood has badly affected the area. The agricultural lands and crops have also been submerged.
