SIVASAGAR: The Sivasagar district administration has launched a new web portal to start the process of renaming the town, village, road, bridge, etc. of the district. The announcement was made in a press conference, addressed by Bitupan Neog, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar at the Syukafa Conference Hall of DC's Office, Sivasagar on Saturday.

Neog informed that the web portal has been launched by the Sivasagar district administration as per directives of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, so that steps could be taken to remove discrepancies in the names of some places. To change the name of the town, village, roads and bridge, people could apply through the portal from home without having to go to the DC Office and suggest for change with justification. People could apply for change of name on the portal sivasagar.nic.in, Neog said.
