Six more tests COVID-19 positive in Golaghat

After Golaghat Nursing Home emerged as COVID-19 hotspot, six other persons who were attendants of patients

GOLAGHAT: After Golaghat Nursing Home emerged as COVID-19 hotspot, six other persons who were attendants of patients in the nursing home tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

As per information of DIPRO, Golaghat administration has collected swab samples of as many as 70 persons who came in contact with the six persons. Notably, two laboratory technicians of Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, Rituraj Tar and Pranjal Bora tested positive for COVID-19. They were kept in quarantine in a hotel of Golaghat. But they allegedly went to Golaghat Nursing Home and worked in the nursing home laboratory by violating COVID-19 protocol. In this way, staff and patients of the nursing home came in contact with Pranjal Bora and Rituraj Bora. As a result, four nurses and a worker of the nursing home has tested positive earlier. The total number of positive cases from the nursing home increased to 13 till Monday evening. In Golaghat district, the total number of active cases is 84. While 79 patients are undergoing treatment in Golaghat COVID-19 Hospital, five patients are in Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
