DEMOW: Six people tested positive for COVID-19 in Demow Chariali on Thursday. According to sources, Rajib Dutta, Shubham Karmakar, Subhash Nandi, Mridula Nandi, Sumit Nandi and Subrata Nandi went for Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the COVID-19 district screening centre at Bhakulaguri near Demow and they tested positive. Subhash Nandi, Mridula Nandi, Sumit Nandi and Subrata Nandi belong to the same family and they tested positive after they went for a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the COVID-19 district screening centre at Bhakulaguri near Demow on Thursday.

On the other hand, Rajib Dutta and Shubham Karmakar, both residents of Demow, also went for Rapid Antigen Test at the COVID-19 district screening centre at Bhakulaguri near Demow and they also tested positive. Subhash Nandi, Mridula Nandi, Sumit Nandi and Subrata Nandi are under home quarantine while Rajib Dutta and Shubham Karmakar were shifted to Demow COVID Care Center (CCC) in Sivasagar Polytechnic Institution, said a health official. The district administration has declared the Nandi Complex in Demow Chariali as containment area.
