Social activist Molaram Medak passes away in Dhakuakhana

Prominent social activists and political figure of Dhakuakhana, Molaram Medak breathed his last on Thursday at 9.42 am. He was 81.

LAKHIMPUR: Prominent social activists and political figure of Dhakuakhana, Molaram Medak breathed his last on Thursday at 9.42 am. He was 81.

Molaram Medak was a resident of Alimur Chapori Gaon of Subansiri area under Ghilamora Police Station of Lakhimpur district. He started his service life as a teacher of Kaligaon LP School. Then he served in Pahumora LP School, Alimur Chapori LP School and retired from Namoni Patrichuk LP School in 2001 as headmaster of the school. He was also the founder president of Rengam Subansiri College Management Committee, president of Subansiri Mandal Congress Committee, vice-president of Ghilamora Mandal Congress Committee, and vice-president of historic Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra Management Committee.

Moreover, he played the role of pioneer in the establishment of several social and cultural institutions in Subansiri area. He was the adviser of Alimur village management and development committee till his death. He was survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter along with a host of relatives. His demise has been widely condoled.
