Dibrugarh: Social activist Ammamuddin Ahmed of Dibrugarh has been hoisting a 60-feet national flag at his residence for the last five years with great patriotic fervour. Ammamuddin, a resident of Paltanbazar, Chandmari of Dibrugarh, has appealed to residents to hoist the tricolour during the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign of the government. "I have been hosting this national flag for the last five years. This flag post's height is around 60 feet. This flag always reminds me about the pain and suffering of the Indian people during the British era and how we won our Independence. This flag also reminds me of the soldiers who have sacrificed their life for the sake of the motherland," Ahmed said. He further said, "Every year my family and neighbours celebrate Independence Day by hoisting the tricolour. I appeal to everyone to hoist the tricolour in their homes during the 75th Independence Day." "This year the government has initiated the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign as a mark of 75 years of India's Independence. This year, Independence Day will be special for us and we will observe it in a grand manner," he said. Also read: Assam Police Issues Toll Free Numbers to Report Bribe Cases Also watch:
