GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident in the Gohpur district of Assam, a son allegedly killed his father after a verbal spat occurred between the two.
The incident took place on Monday 28 February in the Gohpur region which is in the Biswanath district of Assam. The accused son has been identified as Rinku Gunju and the deceased father has been identified as Biren Gunju.
According to reports, the father-son duo got involved in a disagreement because of grocery shopping which led to the death of the father as his son attacked him during the big argument.
It is reported that police reached the spot after getting informed about the heinous incident.
The officials then sent the dead remains of the deceased for post mortem reports and other medical investigations.
Police arrested the accused Rinku Gunju in relation to the alleged murder case. Further investigation about the case is currently going on by the police.
Meanwhile, the incident has created a sense of terror among the locals in the Gohpur area as people are shocked to witness such a crime.
Such shocking incidents of son murdering father have been reported in different parts of Assam on a regular basis.
Earlier in a similar incident on Tuesday 22 February, another son killed his own father in Barpeta district of Assam following an argument over Bidi.
As informed by the police, a big fight occurred between the father and son duo after the father asked for one more bidi which is a thin cigarette filled with tobacco flake and wrapped in a tendu leaf.
The son stabbed his father to death following a simple dispute over bidi at Alipur village in the Barpeta district.
The deceased father has been identified as Lalmiya a 50-year-old and the accused son arrested is identified as 30 years old Samsul Hoque.
