Son Kills Father Over 'Bidi' Scuffle In Assam's Barpeta District

As following the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body for post-mortem reports and detained Samsul from spot.

Guwahati: In yet another case of murder in the city, a man killed his father following a scuffle over a 'bidi' in Assam's Barpeta district on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Lal Miyan, a resident of Alipur area in Kalgachia, who was allegedly stabbed to death by own son Samsul Haque.

According to reports, Samsul when asked his father for a bidi in the morning, his father refused to give him the same for a second time and also Miyan allegedly abused his son.

Later, the duo involved in verbal spat after which Samsul and in a fit of rage, Samsul stabbed his father with a machete.

As following the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body for post-mortem reports and detained Samsul from spot.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and based on his statement Samsul was sent to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a youth was stabbed by a shopkeeper in Guwahati's Borbari.

The shopkeeper identified as Moinul Ali while the injured identified as Manoj Rongpi. In this regard, a case has been registered against the culprit last night at the Dispur Police station.
