Sonitpur district Brahman Samaj lodges FIR against Kamal Kumar Medhi

The Sonitpur district Brahman Samaj lodged an FIR at Jamuguri police station against the vice-president of Raijor Dal, Kamal Kumar Medhi for his alleged remarks on the Brahman community, on Tuesday.

JAMUGURIHAT: The Sonitpur district Brahman Samaj lodged an FIR at Jamuguri police station against the vice-president of Raijor Dal, Kamal Kumar Medhi for his alleged remarks on the Brahman community, on Tuesday.

The co-ordination committee of Sonitpur district Brahman Samaj, including its six regional committees, has registered a case. Talking to media persons, Sailen Borkataky, the executive president of the coordination committee, said, "Kamal Kumar Medhi tried to demoralize the value of the community and tried to create a chaotic situation throughout the State. We, the Brahman Samaj, condemn his statement and demand his immediate arrest."

After the alleged objectionable remark of Medhi, Apurba Bhattacharya, the executive president of Sootea LAC Raijor Dal, resigned from his party portfolio and primary membership of the regional political party. Kamal Kumar Medi had allegedly made an objectionable remark against the Brahmin community while addressing a public gathering at Gouripur in Dhubri recently.
