JAMUGURIHAT: An executive meeting of the Sonitpur District College Employees’ Association was held at Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, Jamugurihat on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by the president of the Association and senior assistant of LOKD College, Kukil Bharali. The objectives of the meeting were explained by Ananta Barthakur, Senior Assistant of Biswanath College and the general secretary of the association. Dr Ajit Hazarika, Principal of THB College delivered the welcome address.
Among the issues discussed were uncertainty about post retirement of NPS employees, pending recruitment of Grade III and IV employees, and non-implementation of time-scale benefit proposals submitted by colleges of the State. The meeting also felicitated Mukut Bhuyan, retired Senior Assistant of THB College.
In the second session, the retired Senior Assistant of the college was felicitated at a solemn meeting organized by the employees’ association of the college. The meeting was chaired by Bhaben Basumatary, president of THB College Employees’ Association and moderated by Amlan Jyoti Kalita, secretary of the College Employees’ Association. The retired senior assistant was felicitated with a citation, xarai, gamosa and seleng sador by the employees’ association office bearers of the college. The principal of the college also handed over the complete pension papers along with the GPF order copy to the senior assistant.
