JAMUGURIHAT: The ceremonial distribution of PWD (Persons with Disabilities) certificates was held at Bapuji Bhavan, Jamugurihat. A total of 500 beneficiaries of Sootea LAC were handed over the PWD certificates by Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika. Many times genuine PWD persons have been deprived of government assistance due to lack of PWD certificate. The Sootea MLA came up with an innovative idea to address the issue. The Sootea MLA, along with the panchayat representatives of Sootea LAC, in association with the Social Welfare Department, had organized a medical camp at Jamuguri HS School in the month of October last year. The meeting was also attended by Jayanta Bora, the president of Naduwar Mandal BJP, Kishor Dahal, ZPC member of Muradal, and others.
