Special Health Camps To Promote Rural Healthcare

TANGLA: In a bid to promote the wellness of the rural populace, two special medical camps were hosted under the aegis of SwasthyaSevaAbhiyan by NHM Udalguri in Udalguri district on Friday.

The camps were held at Kundarbil ME School near Udalguri and Nepaligaon Primary School near Orang where people were screened for common non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, common cancers (oral & breast) among others. The medical camp at Kundarbil ME School was inaugurated by BTC MCLA,Sanjay Swargiary while the medical camp at Nepaligaon Primary School was inaugurated by BTC Executive Member, NilutSwargiary.

The medical health camps witnessed participation of nearly 600 citizens where specialists (Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medicine and Paediatrics) present in the health camp screened pregnant women and children.

Besides health screening and diagnostic services, other activities like routine immunization, Covid-19 vaccination, ABHA ID card generation, awareness and wellness activities were also carried out in the health camps.
