Star College Scheme: Grade A to Bholanath College

DHUBRI: In the 8th review meeting of the Task Force for DBT Star College scheme, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India noted that new experiments, workshops, outreach activities and faculty programmes have significantly increased after the implementation of Star College Scheme in Bholanath College of Dhubri.

In addition, it also noted that the students' intake has also shown considerable increase, and in view overall improvement the Task Force awarded Grade 'A' to the college.

It may be mentioned here that B N College was selected by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for DBT Star College scheme with grants to the department of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics in the year 2019.

Apart from this, in a bid to make this educational institution best in Assam, Bholanath College of Dhubri, introduced many enrichment course for the benefit of students including a Civil Service Coaching Centre and introduced an enrichment course on History, Heritage, Culture and Tourism recently.

Talking to The Sentinel, Principal of the college, Dr. DhrubaChakrabortty expressed satisfaction over the college getting Grade A by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for DBT Star College scheme, and said that they were also working in other fields of education to improve over all scenario of imparting education pattern.

"We are making all out efforts not only to improve qualitative education in academic arena but also grooming students with many enrichment courses, so that they could compete in all the fields and become successful," Dr. Chakrabortty said.
