State Agriculture Department distributed Agri equipment to Farmers

JAMUGURIHAT: A Custom Hiring Centre under the umbrella project of Assam Agri-Business and Rural Transformation Project (APART), was inaugurated at Cheuni Chook, Jamugurihat recently.

The State Agriculture Department, in association with the Assam Agriculture University (AAU), has initiated a project to help farmers of the State by providing agricultural equipment. Notably, the project has been introduced in 16 districts of the State in the primary stage. The Sonitpur district KrishiVigyan Kendra handed over nine agri-equipment to ShyamolKrishiGoot, a self-help group of Jamugurihat, in an inaugural meeting held here. The equipment includes a sowing machine, mobile rice grinder, paddy cutter machine, spray machine and weed cutter machine. The team of agri-scientists demonstrated to the farmers and the general public assembled there about the use of the equipment in a nearby paddy field. The inaugural session and the demonstration of equipment were attended by Dr. ManoranjanNeog, associate extension director (Edu) of AAU, Dr. Pramod Chandra Deka, chief scientist of Sonitpur district KrishiVigyan Kendra, and other agri-officers.
