State Bank of India observed Swachhta Pakhwada from September 1 to September 15 in entire North East Circle.

GUWAHATI: State Bank of India observed Swachhta Pakhwada from September 1 to September 15 in entire North East Circle. An initiative of Government of India, State Bank of India wholeheartedly participated the campaign by organizing cleanliness drive and tree plantation drive in its offices and branches. Following COVID-19 protocol, activities like maintaining record room, proper maintenance of branch premises and destruction of obsolete stationery and items were carried out. A swachh pledge was also taken by all staff members of the bank. Tree plantation drive was carried out in the premises of the offices and branches as part of the campaign.

The Hindi Fortnight is also being celebrated in State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Guwahati in a joyous and befitting manner from September 14 to 30. On the occasion of Hindi Divas on September 14, R.S. Ramesh, Chief General Manager, North-East Circle inaugurated the Hindi Fortnight with a very inspiring and substantive message to all colleagues. In his address, Ramesh expressed the commitment and dedication of the bank towards propagation of official language and said, "Our bank is constantly striving with new experiments in the propagation of official language. In continuation to this and in order to make the Hindi Divas and Hindi Fortnight successful and meaningful, various competitions such as slogan writing in Hindi, Hindi word puzzles, best performance in Hindi, display of film based on Hindi stories and quiz thereof, general knowledge quiz, Hindi typing and handwriting competitions are being organized for all section of employees. In view of the COVID pandemic, all the participants are participating in the aforesaid competitions wholeheartedly while maintaining the social distance, stated a press release.
