The convoy of State Finance Minister allegedly knocked down a tea tribe worker near the factory of Beeshakopie Tea Estate on Tuesday

TINSUKIA: The convoy of State Finance Minister allegedly knocked down a tea tribe worker near the factory of Beeshakopie Tea Estate on Tuesday evening when the minister was on the way to Sadiya from Tinsukia. 
Identified as ChukuraMunda of Phatik Chand TE, who was on a bicycle, was rescued by the local people. With severe head injury, he was shifted to AMC&H in a critical condition. The local people alleged that the vehicle, after hitting the person, fled towards Sadiya. Reacting to the incident, Durga Bhumij, Doomdooma MLA, said that the minister should have displayed minimum humanity by stopping the convoy and assisting in rescuing the injured person. While condemning such irresponsible attitude, he demanded that the minister should make proper arrangement for better treatment and suitable compensation be awarded to the victim.
