JAGIROAD: A statue of Bir Lachit Barphukan was inaugurated on Thursday at Jagiroad. The statue donated by Jagiroad MLA and cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika, in association with JRN Contracts and Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd and Jagiroad Development Authority, was inaugurated by CEO, Morigaon Zila Parishad, and DC (i/c) Khitish Chandra Pegu.
The programme was attended by Morigaon Superintendent of Police Hemanta Kumar Das, ADC Garga Mohan Das and other senior government officials. The DC(i/c) while addressing the session called upon the youth generation to follow the sacrifice of Bir Lachit Barphukan. The session was attended by a host of senior social workers of the locality.
