Stolen Royal Enfield bike recovered in Kohima

A stolen Royal Enfield bike (No AS12N-2748) belonging to Amarjyoti Borthakur, a retired associate professor and former Principal of Biswanath College, was recovered in Kohima, Nagaland.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A stolen Royal Enfield bike (No AS12N-2748) belonging to Amarjyoti Borthakur, a retired associate professor and former Principal of Biswanath College, was recovered in Kohima, Nagaland.

The bike was stolen from the garage of the former professor's house on October 23, 2018. Though he lodged a complaint with the Biswanath Chariali Police Station, police were clueless about it. But surprisingly, on November 25, 2020, a message came to Borthakur from a servicing centre called B. H RECARE. It was written that his bike was being serviced and the total bill amount is Rs. 1154.26 and the collection time was 5.30 pm. Soon after, Borthakur sought the help of a Royal Enfield dealer in Biswanath Chariali. According to the dealer, the SMS had come from a Royal Enfield dealer in Kohima. Accordingly, Borthakur contacted the police and Kohima police station was provided with all the information.

Twenty days later, the Kohima police station sent a photo of the bike to Biswanath police headquarter. At last, a team from Biswanath Chariali Police Station went to Kohima and recovered the bike.
