Students coming from Kota to rest at UN Brahma College: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Kokrajhar: “The students coming from Kota, Rajasthan on April 26 will be offered light refreshment by the district administration at UN Brahma College. For this purpose, Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Chirang district will make necessary arrangements for the students,” said State Health and Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma while visiting Chirang district on Saturday for inspecting the arrangements made by the district administration for the same.

Interacting with media he said, “The students who are coming from outside the State tomorrow will take rest here for a while and have light refreshment arranged by the State Government and later, they will proceed to Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati as per the plan.” He further informed that the bus fare would be borne by the students themselves but their security and fooding throughout the journey from Rajasthan would be arranged by the State Government with the help of Uttar Pradesh government. He thanked the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for helping the Assam Government all throughout this process.

During his visit, he was accompanied by ministers Chandan Brahma and Pijush Hazarika, and MP Biswajit Daimary. More than 400 students who were stranded in Kota, Rajasthan are coming back to Assam on Sunday.
