Students hail CM Himanta's decision to upgrade Kokrajhar Government College

KOKRAJHAR: The academic diaspora of Kokrajhar in general and the Kokrajhar Government College were jubilant when Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly announced that Kokrajhar Government College will be turned into a university within the next three years in his address before the huge public gathering on the occasion of one year celebration of completion of present BTR government led by Pramod Boro on Saturday.

The faculty and staff of Kokrajhar Government College were overjoyed and hoped that it will be turned into a reality within the promised time frame. The overjoyed faculty, students of the college celebrated in the college campus. Talking to mediapersons the Principal of Kokrajhar Government College Dr. Banabina Brahma said that it was a great moment for them.

The president of the Alumni of Kokrajhar College Benudhar Basumatary said, "It was indeed a praiseworthy step of the present government to turn Kokrajhar Government College into a university. The much needed higher education in BTR will get a facelift if Kokrajhar University becomes a reality within the declared time."
