MANGALDAI: Non completion and non submission of case diary in time has led to the arrest of a serving Sub Inspector of Police. The arrested Sub Inspector is namely Nuruddin Ahmed presently serving in District Special Branch (DSB) in Baksa district and a resident of village Pakowa under Belsor Police Station in Nalbari district. During his tenure in Sipajhar Police Station in Darrang district, the arrested accused Sub Inspector failed to complete the case diary of about 70 cases assigned to him. Despite the repeated instructions from the Superintendent of Police, he intentionally violated it for which the case diaries could not be completed. Following the tough stand of Superintendent of Police Prakash Sonowal in timely completion and submission of the case diaries by all the Investigation Officers (IO), Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) filed an FIR at Sipajhar Police Station and accordingly the Sipajhar Police registered a case vide no. No-231/2023 U/S- 379/201/204/217/120 (B) IPC and arrested the Sub Inspector. The Sipajhar Police on Saturday has produced him before the Judicial Court.
