DHUBRI: Three women were conferred the Sushma Swaraj Award while nearly 50 women joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the executive meeting of Dhubri District Mohila Morcha held at Trinath Temple premises here in Dhubri on Sunday.
Three women, Pushpa Chakraborty, Joyarani Roy and Sabita Rani Pradhani from Dhubri, Gauripur and Golokganj of Dhubri district respectively were the recepients of the award for their works from the grassroot level to the district-level. Earlier in the morning, party flag was hoisted by Dhubri District Mohila Morcha president, Indrani Singha Choudhury followed by six executive sessions on various themes and topics, including empowerment of women, history behind formation of BJP and its journey, weaving, handloom and handicrafts, which were addressed by Dhubri district senior BJP leaders like Dr Debamoy Sanyal and Dipak Kumar Saha.
