Tamulpur Police seized ganja worth over Rs 1 lakh , one arrested

BAKSA: Tamulpur Police raided No. 3 Kalipur village in Kumarikata under Tamulpur Police Station in Baksa district on Thursday evening and seized a large quantity of ganja.

A police team led by officer-in-charge of Tamulpur Police Station, Deepak Sudradhar and Sub-Inspector Nipon Gogoi raided the house of Jyotimoy Das of No. 3 Kalipur village in Kumarikata in association with the officer in-charge of Kumarikata police outpost, Neelabhjyoti Nath and seized 31.46 kg ganja from the house of Jyotimoy Das (19), son of Dipak Das. According to police, the seized ganja is worth around Rs 1 lakh.

Tamulpur police arrested Jyotimoy Das. He had allegedly brought the ganja from Bhairabkunda in Udalguri district in a luxury car bearing registration number AS-01-AL-1181 and kept it at his residence at No. 3 Kalipur village in Kumarikata. A case has been registered against Jyotimoy Das at Tamulpur police station. Tamulpur police are interrogating him for more information.
