MANGALDAI: Gyan Vikash Academy Educational Trust, a premier group of ideal schools in Mangaldai in their two-daylong celebration of Teachers Day, in a praiseworthy initiative awarded 'Radhakrishnan Award' for excellence to fourteen teachers of different schools in recognition of their sincere service. In the function organized at their school at Bhebarghat here they also offered felicitation on media person Bhargab Kumar Das. The felicitated teachers are namely Hitesh Hazarika of Outala HS School, national award recipient teacher Shashangka Hazarika, Akhil Ranjan Bhatta, Dr Uttam Kalita, Nalini Saharia, Bhadra Kalita, Dipti Sarma, Ajit Deka, Narayan Saharia, Prafulla Kalita, Rajani Barua, Prabin Sarma, Anil Kumar Deka and Nilima Barua.
Octogenarian historian, retired teacher and a former legislator Dr Nagendra Nath Sarma attended the function as the chief guest. Earlier director of the Trust Kushal Kalita extended a hearty welcome to the guests and teachers. He also briefly described the motto and the academic activities of the trust which presently is running three ideal schools in Mangaldai. Rector of the School Dibakar Deka, social activist Basab Deka also attended the function.
