‘Teachers have a huge responsibility’: Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma

The 62nd Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Morigaon Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School on Tuesday with enthusiasm. Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma said that teachers have a heavy responsibility to shape the future generations of the country and teachers have faithfully fulfilled this responsibility despite various challenges.

MORIGAON: The 62nd Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Morigaon Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School on Tuesday with enthusiasm. Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma said that teachers have a heavy responsibility to shape the future generations of the country and teachers have faithfully fulfilled this responsibility despite various challenges.

He appreciated the commitment of teachers and their efforts for the overall development of the students. The District Commissioner said that the behavior and personality of the teachers should be such that everyone should respect them. He said that the responsibility of shaping the future of the students lies with the teachers and they should be revered by all sections of the society.

Dr Bishnu Prasad Upadhyay, principal of GKB College, attended as the chief guest in the programme. He said that teachers must work hard to build human resources in the true sense of the word. Only practice can take a teacher to the great ranks. He said that when a good student becomes a good citizen of the country, that student represents the whole world. Therefore, the role of teachers in shaping a student is very important. The event was also attended by the Superintendent of Police Hemant Kumar Das, ADCs and principals .

Altogether 43 teachers of lower primary, upper primary and higher secondary schools of the district were felicitated for their outstanding contribution.
