NAGAON: The Nagaon district unit of Sadou Asom Sarkari School Sewa Santha organized a felicitation programme at Nagaon Government Boys’ HS School here on Friday.
During the programme, the district unit of the organization felicitated six noted teachers of the district on the occasion of the recently observed National Teachers’ Day, for their specific contribution to the field of teaching.
The teachers who were felicitated by the organization were Rita Kakoti, principal, Nagaon Government Girls’ HS School, Honey Bora, assistant teacher of Nagaon Government Girls’ HS School, Kumkum Das, retired principal of Nagaon Urban High School, Jiban Ch Oja, retired assistant teacher of Nagaon Urban High School, Kalpana Borthakur, assistant teacher of Nagaon Government Boys’ HS School and Sheila Ahmed, assistant teacher of Nagaon Government Boys’ HS School respectively.
The programme was chaired by Basanta Goswami, principal of Nagaon Government Boys’ HS School, while Dr Kishore Mohan Bhattacharya, professor, Department of History, Gauhati University, and a noted Assamese literary critic as well as the retired professor of Nowgong Girls’ College, Prabhat Bora, were present in the programme as the special invitees.
