A CORRESPONDENT
BISWANATH CHARIALI: A team from Behali Reserve Forest (BRF) along with some research scholars of Department of Zoology, Gauhati University met with State Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum demanding the upgradation of Behali Reserve Forest into a wildlife sanctuary. The minister informed the team that work was in progress and wildlife sanctuary would be declared within a very short time. The team also urged the minister to initiate the process for setting up of an advanced wildlife research institute in Assam.
The team comprised of Ranjit Kakati, Manab Jyoti Kalita, Vivek Chetry and Keshab Jyoti Borah.
