Dibrugarh: A 10-day skill development training programme kicked off at Tengakhat College in collaboration with IIE, Guwahati recently with the lighting of traditional lamp by the Vice- Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddha Dev Sports University, Dr . Jay Prakash Verma.
In his presidential address, Dr Verma hoped that 30 graduate youths hailing from the periphery region of Tengakhat area who participated in the skill development training programme, would be benefited in their pursuit towards self-employment.
Dr Chimun Nath, Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University (DU), Sanjay Dutta, ADC and Registrar, Sri Aniruddha Dev Sports University, Gautam Barthakur, Assistant Professor, CMS, DU, Dr Tanka Prasad Upadhyay, DU, Durgeswar Saikia, faculty, Institute of Education and Training, Tinsukia and Prof. Rajesh Barman of Bodoland University participated in the programme as resource persons.
Earlier, while welcoming the guests, resource persons, faculties, students and participants, the Principal of the college, Dr Kiran Hazarika stated that the prime objective to organize such a programme was to provide the educated unemployed youths an exposure to utilize the existing natural resources for setting up small and medium-scale industries. The valedictory function of the programme will be held on February 10.
