Tezpur Expenditure Observer appeals to people to use cVIGIL app

Expenditure Observer for 72-Borchalla, 73-Tezpur and 75-Sootea LACs under Tezpur Election District, Prasoon Kabra has appealed to the people of the district to make use of the cVIGIL app developed by the Election Commission of India to lodge any complaints during the electioneering phase in the district.

TEZPUR: Expenditure Observer for 72-Borchalla, 73-Tezpur and 75-Sootea LACs under Tezpur Election District, Prasoon Kabra has appealed to the people of the district to make use of the cVIGIL app developed by the Election Commission of India to lodge any complaints during the electioneering phase in the district.

"By using the app, the citizens can play a very powerful role in the entire election process by ensuring that all political parties and candidates abide by the rules laid down by the ECI," he stated.

The common citizens can use the app to report any violation of the Model Code of Conduct, or violation of election expenditure norms such as money distribution, liquor/ drugs distribution, display of firearms, intimidation, communal hate speech, paid news, freebies distribution, offer of free transportation to voters, fake news, property defacement among others. Citizens can upload videos/ photos of any such violation to the app and any complaint received will be addressed by the authorities within 100 minutes of registration. The app is available for download for both Android and iOS devices.
