Tezpur University observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Tezpur University (TU) observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 with the theme ‘Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation’.

TEZPUR: Tezpur University (TU) observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 with the theme 'Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation'. Various events were organized at the university to ensure greater participation from the students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff.

To uphold the spirit of vigilance, the week-long programme started with the integrity pledge taken by all the members of the university fraternity. To invoke the enthusiasm of the students, various competitions such as a drawing competition for children and extempore speech were also organized at the Chandraprabha Saikiani Centre for Women's Studies. A Walkathon around the campus was organized in collaboration with NSS Tezpur University.

Along with the above-mentioned events, a street dance was performed by the Nrityangan Dance Club of the university. It was followed by an open mic session where the Chief Vigilance Officer Prof Charu Lata Mahanta, addressed the students and mentioned the critical role of vigilance to strive towards a corruption-free country. Students used this opportunity to express their creative endeavors in the form of music, dance, and poetry. A short film-making competition was also organized on the theme 'Integrity' inviting entries from the University to showcase their ideas on-screen.

Short films namely Xomonnoy, Smile, Mundane Truth, and Shadow Puppetry along with the other entries got screened in the Council Hall of the university. An online banner making competition was organized on the theme 'Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation'. The top three entries were hoarded at various locations on the campus.
