DIBRUGARH: In broad daylight, thieves looted Rs 1 lakh from a vehicle by smashing the glass of the vehicle in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
The Hyundai car bearing registration number (WRVX-AS 06AF2566) was parked at Station Road in Dibrugarh at around 3.40 pm. The couple, after withdrawing Rs 1 lakh from State Bank of India, main branch, parked their vehicle at a parking slot and went shopping at New Market. After returning from the market, they found that the window glass of their vehicle was broken and someone had stolen the plastic bag where they had kept Rs 1 lakh after withdrawing from the bank. They have registered a case at Dibrugarh police station. "We have registered a case and started an investigation," said a police official.
