Third phase of COVID-19 vaccination underway in Tinsukia district

The third phase of COVID-19 vaccination started in Tinsukia district along with the rest of Assam from March 1 for citizens aged 60 years and above, and for those between 45 to 59 years with any specific comorbidities.

TINSUKIA: The third phase of COVID-19 vaccination started in Tinsukia district along with the rest of Assam from March 1 for citizens aged 60 years and above, and for those between 45 to 59 years with any specific comorbidities.

The COVID-19 vaccine will be provided free of charge at government health facilities of Tinsukia district initially at 12 designated vaccination sites-Hapjan BPHC, Dangari CHC, Urban Health Centre Tinsukia, Phillobari Model Hospital, Doomdooma FRU, Kakopothar BPHC, Ketetong BPHC, Kothalguri Model Hospital, Margherita FRU, Jagun MPHC, Digboi CHC and Chapakhuwa FRU.

As per guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination shared from the State HQ, on the day of the vaccination, beneficiaries will have to carry any one of the following ID proofs for verification – Aadhar card, Electoral photo ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID card and Employment card. Beneficiaries between ages 45 to 59 years with specified comorbidities will also have to provide their Comorbidity Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of vaccination, stated a press release issued by Sangeeta Das, District Media Expert, NHM Tinsukia.

Meanwhile, in the previous phases in Tinsukia district, 5,240 healthcare workers (HCWs) of targeted 7,993 and 1,545 out of targeted 3,417 Frontline workers (FLWs) were vaccinated till date while the mop up round for HCWs and FLWS dose wise will be scheduled in the first week of March tentatively, the release stated.
