Bongaigaon: Thousands of activists of North East Frontier Railway Mazdoor Union (NFRMU) from the entire NF Railway such as Tinisukiya, Lumding, Guwahati, Maligaon, Rangiya, Bongaigaon, Alipurduar and Katihar left for Chennai by a special train on Sunday to raise voice against the Central Government’s ‘anti-labor’ policy.
These activists will go to Parambur in Chennai to take part in the 95th annual convention of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation. Rakhal Das Gupta, president of AIRF, said that about 1 lakh AIRF members would take part in this convention. “Discussion and resolution about several burning topics like government’s conspiracy to privatize the Indian Railway, present economic crisis and scrapping of the National Pension Scheme will be taken. We will plan on how to stop the government from implementing anti-labor policies. We will take several important resolutions in this convention,” Das Gupta said.
