Three paddy procurement centres opened in Biswanath district

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Borah urged the farmers to sell paddy at Rs 2040.00 per quintal at the minimum support price fixed by the government.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A paddy procurement centre under the Food Corporation of India (FCI) was inaugurated in Panibharal area in Biswanath district on Saturday. The centre was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Biswanath Dr Surya Kamal Borah. The inauguration ceremony was attended by District Agriculture Officer Deepak Barhoi and other officers and employees of the Agriculture Department.

Inaugurating the centre, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Borah urged the farmers to sell paddy at Rs 2040.00 per quintal at the minimum support price fixed by the government. The District Agriculture Officer called upon all the farmers to take advantage of this facility and contact the Agricultural Extension Assistant or Agricultural Development Officer in their respective areas as soon as possible.

Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Munindra Nath Ngatey inaugurated another paddy procurement centre at Garehagi in Biswanath on Friday under Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Government of Assam.

Today's inauguration ceremony of the paddy procurement centre was attended by several local farmers who expressed their satisfaction with the paddy procurement system. Simultaneously, a paddy procurement centre was inaugurated at Balijan in Gohpur subdivision on Saturday.
