MANGALDAI: Police personnel too have a tender heart and this was reflected on Sunday by two female and male police personnel while carrying out their assigned duties during the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in Darrang district.

Women constables Binapani Deka and Mousumi Sangma of Darrang Police were deployed for duty in the TET examination centre at Don Bosco School at Mangaldai. Quite unexpectedly, two mothers appearing in the test requested both the lady cops to take care of their babies before entering the hall. Both lady cops, with great enthusiasm, took care of the babies till the examination was over.

On the other hand, constable Mozahidul Islam of Kharupetia Police Station of the district too got the rare opportunity to take care of a baby during his official duty at an examination hall in Kharupetia College as a young mother appearing in the examination handed him her baby. “It was really an exceptional experience to shoulder the role of the mother and the father while we were carrying out our duties,” said female constables Binapani Deka and Mousumi Sangma, and constable Mozahidul Islam while talking to The Sentinel with smiles on their faces.

All three mothers who could appear in the examination without having to worry about their babies expressed their gratitude to the cops.
