DONGKAMUKAM: A heavy rainstorm lashed West Karbi Anglong blowing away hundreds of houses and uprooting several trees. The most affected areas are Dongkamukam town and villages Kollonga, Kollongamukh, Bithung Centre, Jalpara, Satgaon, East Bhellapara, Tumpreng, Phangtengphrang, Taradubi, Borthol, Mugasong, Ghilani etc.

The busiest Dongkamukam Tumpreng Hojai road remained cut off for a couple of hours due to the uprooted trees that fell on the Tumpreng RCC bridge and even Tumpreng Phangtengphrang road was blocked as a big branch of a tree fell in the middle of the road. The impact of the storm was so strong that electric posts and wires were also damaged.

The local people were seen helping clearing the roads. The affected families demanded help from the government. Till evening no human casualty was reported. The estimated loss in this storm is of several crores.
