TINSUKIA: A delegation of Tinsukia District Journalists' Association (TDJA) led by president Anuj Kalita and secretary Ranajyoti Neog felicitated Prasanta Borkakoty, Resident Chief Executive (RCE) of Oil India Limited, with Rabha ethnic gamocha, citation and cheleng chadar at Duliajan on Monday and also presented a memorandum highlighting 3-point charter of demands that concern journalists of Tinsukia district. Borkakoty hailing from Doomdooma in Tinsukia district joined OIL as PRO and was elevated to RCE recently.
The memorandum stated that the OIL should make provision to appoint meritorious children of journalists of Tinsukia district on a merit basis, to declare a package for district journalists and also free treatment at OIL hospital for the families of district journalists. Besides president and secretary, the others who accompanied the TDJA team were vice president Kamal Talukdar, former president Dr Rishi Das, former secretary Manuranjan Das, executive members-Hemanta Saikia & Tapan Dey.
