TINSUKIA/DOOMDOOMA: With 82 COVID positive cases detected on Thursday alone, Tinsukia district recorded highest number of positive cases since the outbreak of second wave of pandemic.
While RAT test resulted in 68 positive cases, the RT PCR showed 14 positive cases. According to line list available, out of 82 cases, 19 were airport returnees, a sizeable number were from IOCL colony Digboi, Digboi Itabhata, Margherita and Tinsukia urban area. The number of positive cases has spiked since Monday when 53 cases were detected though 8 positive cases were recorded on April 8 and the number began to show increasing trend after Bihu with 29 positive cases recorded on April 16.
