TINSUKIA: Tinsukia police nabbed one drug peddler identified as Boloram Roy, son of Nihar Roy of Udyut Nagar Makum, with drugs at Chirwapatty near Blood Bank in Tinsukia town on Thursday evening. The police seized one soap box containing suspected heroin weighing around 13 grams from his possession. While searching his house later, police recovered another packet. In total 37.98 grams were recovered from his possession, informed Abhijit Gurav, Superintendent of Police, Tinsukia.

Meanwhile, in another operation on Friday, the Tinsukia police acting on a tip-off apprehended two persons, including a woman, with 8 shop boxes suspected to be heroin weighing 116.98 gm and 5.33kg of ganja, two mobile sets near Margherita Railway Station. They have been identified as Babita Saikia, wife of Pabitra Saikia of Dikshu Mout Gaon under Namti PS in the Sivasagar district, and N. Ingocha Singh, son of N. Irapot Singh of Awang Sekmai under Sekmai PS in West Imphal district.
