Tinsukia Railway Division surpasses targets, achieves impressive results in 2022-23

DIGBOI: Tinsukia Division of Northern Frontier Railway has exceeded its targets in the 2022-23 fiscal year, achieving impressive results across multiple key performance indicators. The division loaded 1.3668 million tonnes (MT), surpassing its target of 1 million MT by 36.68% and the previous fiscal year by 46.59%. This success was reflected in the overall revenue figures as well, with total originating revenue reaching Rs. 525 crores, 18.52% above the target of Rs. 442.95 crores. This was stated during an official correspondence with The Sentinel.

The division leveraged the all India e-auction system to earn contracts worth Rs. 28.2 crore through e-auctions, contributing 33% of the zonal tally of Rs. 87.82 crore. The division’s punctuality was also impressive, with a rate of 98.59%, earning it second place in all of Indian Railways. The division’ average speed of goods trains in the division was 49.76 kmph, compared to the IR average of 30.98 kmph and NFR average of 31.72 kmph. Despite these high punctuality and freight speed outcomes, the division maintained a zero-accident figure, emphasizing safety as a top priority.

TSK Division’s focus on efficiency was reflected in its reduction of unloading time by 29.8% and rake examination time by 36%, compared to the previous fiscal year.

The division has also accomplished impressive infrastructure developments, including the construction of the Gati Shakti Terminal at FCI Siding Cinnamara, the 4th Pit Line at the Dibrugarh Coaching Depot, the 30 bedded Integrated running room at MXN, and the New Goods Line at Dhamalgaon. The division also provided new facilities for medical care, including a new OPD and cabins at Divisional Hospital, Dibrugarh, and the provision of two lifts at Mariani.

The TSK Division’s commitment to providing quality services was further demonstrated through the launch of an air-conditioned coach restaurant, the first of its kind in Upper Assam, pioneered at the New Tinsukia Station. Overall, Tinsukia Division’s impressive performance sets a high standard for Indian Railways and demonstrates its commitment to efficiency, safety, and quality service.
