Tinsukia Regional Students' Union stages two-hour sit-in

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia Regional Students' Union (TRSU) staged a two-hour sit-in at its office premises near Tinsukia College on Saturday demanding prioritization and augmentation in educational sector particularly in Tinsukia district and later they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Tinsukia highlighting 13 charter of demands.

The general secretary of TRSU Nayan Jyoti Bezbaruah told media persons that most of educational institutions in rural and semi-urban areas lack suitable infrastructure. Several posts of teachers, employees have been lying vacant while no institution had facilities for post-graduate studies. They also demanded establishment of an agricultural college and engineering college in Tinsukia district.
