Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) election conducted peacefully in Morigaon

MORIGAON: With a voter turnout of 79 per cent till the filing of this report, the 3rd Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) election concluded peacefully in Morigaon district on Thursday.

The fate of 124 candidates has been sealed in ballot boxes. The third TAC elected was held in four districts - Nagaon, Hojai, Morigaon and Kamrup (metro). In Morigaon district, a total of 58 candidates out of 59 candidates are in the fray for 18 seats as one seat - the 14 no. Gobha (ST) constituency was declared as uncontested against BJP candidate Moniram Pator. The district administration set up 187 voting centres in 18 constituencies in the district.
