MORIGAON: The All Tiwa Students’ Union (ATSU), Tiwa Yuba Chatra Parishad (TYCP), All Tiwa Protection Committee (ATPC), ATWS, TCS and Autonomous Demand Committee (ADS) have criticized the State Government for not taking any step against their demand for inquiry into the TAC.

The organizations said in a statement that they had demanded the government for an inquiry from the financial year 2007-2008 to the financial year 2017-2018. But the State Government had refrained from ordering a probe into the functioning of the TAC due to political reasons, for which the council had been unstable for a month. In the statement, the organizations said that an MLA and a minister were trying to destroy the TAC politically, economically and socially.

The organizations led by Dipen Mosrong, president of ATSU and Sejoy Deuri, general secretary of ATPC, expressed resentment over the financial irregularities in the TAC and appealed to the Chief Minister to order a probe into the anomalies in TAC from 2007-2008 to 2016. The organizations also threatened to launch an agitation if their demands were not fulfilled.
