MORIGAON: The All Tiwa Students' Union (ATSU), All Tiwa Protection Committee (ATPC), All Tiwa Woman Association (ATWA) and Tiwa Cultural Society (TCS) have welcomed the High Court's probe order.

In a statement, the organizations under the leaderships of the president of ATSU, Dharmashing Bordoloi, the secretary of ATPC, Sejoy Deuri, the secretary of ATWA, Tutumoni Deka Raja and the secretary of TCS, Bakindra Mosrang said that the organizations filed a writ petition through Prasanta Konwar in the High Court HC demanding thorough investigation into irregularities and anomalies during the financial years from 2010-11 to 2015-16 in the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC).

An order, based on the writ petition, was issued by the High Court on June 24 by which the court directed the Superintendent of Police, Morigaon to ensure that the investigation, which was the subject matter in that petition, was entrusted to a senior police functionary for effective and fair investigation as the matter was related to public money and allegation of misuse thereof.
