DOOMDOOMA: All Adivasi Students' Association Assam (AASAA), Doomdooma Regional Committee brought out a torchlight procession from Doomdooma Townfield on Wednesday evening demanding severe punishment like hanging of the culprits involved in the mass rape of a 22-year-old girl of Baganpara in Baksa district on October 24.
She was allegedly kidnapped from her bed at night on that day and was brutally murdered after she was gang-raped by the kidnappers. The incident caused a stir in the State as such incidents of atrocities on women are increasing day by day. Meanwhile, the police arrested four persons on suspicion. But the real culprits are yet to be arrested. So AASAA demanded stringent measures like hanging of the culprits involved in the gang-rape and murder. They criticized the government for its failure to give protection to women.
