Nazirating
(Digboi) : Assam tourism fair to be held in Digboi, popularly known as
the 'Oil City' in Tinsukia district of Assam from January 1 to 3. The three-day
tourism fair will be organized for the first time which will be held at
Nazirating near Tamuli village in Digboi.
Sri Sri Nahar Mahanta 'Shatradhikar'of
Tamuli Bon village inaugurated the new tourist place in presence of BJP MLA of
Digboi Suren Phukan on Friday.
Both sides of the Dibru river of Nazirating which is
famous for picnic spots have been turned into a beautiful tourist attraction
place. The spot is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides. The river
surrounded by greenery and different species of birds and animals are the
center of attraction in the newly formed tourist destination.
Guest houses, roads have been constructed on the
tourist site by MLA Suren Phukan with the help of government funds.
With the efforts of MLA Phukan, the region is now
attracting tourists from different parts of the country and is becoming a
meeting place for different ethnic groups.
According to Phukan, this will pave the way for job
opportunities of the unemployed in the region and for the students of science
and animal lovers it will be a great place to study.
The MLA hoped that the fair would receive all the support
from the locals of the area and they would attend the fair in large numbers. He
said both the locals and the tourists will be happy if more development
projects come up in the area.
Nazirating will emerge as the second-largest tourist
destination after the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park in Tinsukia district.
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is a hotspot among wildlife lovers.
